In Ancient Egypt, when moving to the next life, the heart was weighed against the Feather of Maat on a scale. If the heart and feather were balanced, a beautiful afterlife. If not, less than beautiful. Lol.

 Wearing this charm almost every day is a lovely physical reminder for me to keep things balanced in my own life.
